Hi,
...small and fast Unicode lib that does everything ICU does but faster and in less code while using UTF-8 for internal storage...maybe i missed this, but why not bundle intl with PHP (like opcache)? - "faster and in less code" could be achieved by optimization - for windows builds it's bundled - no need to reinvent ICU wrappers - less manpower needed to integrate as it's there And a second Q: Would "type juggling" allow for autoboxing into a second string type where needed (unicode-aware functions)? - {"utf-8", "en_GB", binary} - no/less performance degradation for current functions - enables for smooth transition cryptocompress
