We could change things in way that they are not too error prone, and the change at user level is nearly invisible (e.g : rethink the '@' internal handling).That would indeed be an option; however, it feels to me like saying "suppress all error messages" is only ever a workaround for some other requirement, so it's interesting to think if there are better solutions to the underlying problem, rather than/as well as better implementations of the current feature.
