The output is actually: php -r 'var_dump(1.00000000000002, 1.00000000000001, 1.00000000000001 === 1.00000000000002);' float(1) float(1) bool(false) Which reflects the point I was trying to make (two numbers that are NOT exactly equal according to === are printed identically by var_dump()).
