I think not changing it is the correct thing to do.....but I think it
needs more thinking about.
Btw, the RFC would need to cover all cases of comparison. e.g. within
for loops as well as if statements because:
$initialValue = "2bananas";
for ($x=$initialValue ; $x<10; $x++) {
echo "$x\n";
}
