POST problem PHP4.0.3pl1 CGI/Linux SUse6.4/APACHE

Hello I have compiled php4.0.3pl1 as CGI on a Linux machine, to use with Apache where php3 is installed as module, and mysql. I succeeded in compiling it, but POST doesn't work, whereas GET does... What's the problem ? Here is the compilation options : --without-apache --with-pdflib --with-openssl --with-mysql --with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd/ --enable-calendar --enable-magic-quotes --enable-track-vars The php.ini is php.ini-dist; php was copied in cgi-bin directory from the www tree with the name php.cgi. Running the tests in command line mode gives the same thing : all post fail.
