Sorry, but XX.php.net type of domains are required for mirror sites,
so if you provide a mirror (with completely the same content as php.net),
you can get yu.php.net. We suggest you to register php.yu for your community
plans. This also worked in other countries (where this domain was free at
that
time)..
Mirroring info at http://php.net/README.mirror

Dear PHP Web masters,
As you may find out from the subject header of this email message; I am from
Yugoslavia (europe). Few more web masters and PHP programmers including me
are willing to make the Yugoslav PHP community. We are getting to design and
looks of our Web site.
We were hoping that we can make php.net-like site and get yu.php.net domain.
I know you would say: "wth who are you to get php.net domain?"
But, because it is still early to say how would our page look, I decided to
contact someone from the PHP.NET community to see if I can get that domain
to redirect to our site and to take php.net-like design and add our flag to
the logo. This would really improve the gravity and seriousness of our
project.
YU PHP community is very young idea, thats why we decided to question all
the best options first. This is our first option. If this doesnt succeed we
are going to make the php.org.yu domain name and make design of our own.
Sincerely Yours,
Milos Sakovic
