comp.lang.php has been created

I just wanted to let you know that comp.lang.php has been created... finally, a single group for PHP under the proper hierarchy... no more splitting up between alt.php and alt.comp.lang.php. PHP has joined the rest of the major programming languages under the comp.lang.* hierarchy. Anyhow, a group under comp.lang.* has many advantages over alt.* groups, including propagation and retention... I would appreciate it greatly if you would make a post on php.net about the creation of the new group, as I certainly think it is a very big event for the PHP community (and also a great place to turn to for help and support). The newgroup control message was sent out today, most servers already carry comp.lang.php, but some admins are a bit slow to respond to newgroup control messages. Either way, if a user's server does not already carry it, comp.lang.php should appear very shortly on the server's list of carried groups. comp.lang.php is here! -Ian Fette, proponent comp.lang.php
