Synthis Corporation Adds Support for the PHP Language in Adalon 2.5
ATLANTA - September 25, 2002 - Synthis Corporation, an Atlanta technology company specializing in
process modeling tools for business analysts and software functional design teams, today announces
support for the PHP programming language and complete design and code generation support for
PHP-Fusebox in Adalon 2.5. PHP-Fusebox is a version of the industry-leading Fusebox Web Application
Architecture created specifically to work with the PHP programming language.
"Since we first began marketing Adalon to the Fusebox community, companies who use PHP have
been asking us to add support for PHP-Fusebox," said Wells Burke, Synthis Corporation CEO.
"In order to get our user community more involved, we decided to sponsor a generator
contest."
Adalon is a new type of design tool whose XML-based output can be easily converted into a wide range
of high-quality design deliverables. Sample output types include functional and technical design
documents, Web-based application prototypes, help and training documentation, and running code for
any predefined Web application architecture and programming language.
The Adalon generator contest attracted entries from as far away as Estonia. "We were extremely
pleased with the number, quality, and variety of entries we received," commented Justin
Labrecque, director of product development for Synthis.
The winner of the best Fusebox generator category was a PHP code generator submitted by John Beynon,
a Web Architect from London, England. "Creating the generator was easy. It only took me 2 to 3
days," said Beynon. "I was able to take an existing code generator and customize each of
the files to generate PHP code for the Fusebox Architecture."
"It is really exciting to see companies like Synthis providing such great tool support for the
PHP developer community," said Keith Young, a PHP Web application architect from Winnipeg,
Canada.
The fact that Adalon now supports code generation for ColdFusion, Java, and PHP versions of Fusebox
means greater flexibility and reduced long-term technology risk for Fusebox development teams.
"The same design can now be implemented in any one of these 3 languages," explained Burke.
"We are hoping that members of the Adalon user community will be encouraged to help further
expand Adalon's generation capabilities to include other popular software architectures and
documentation styles," Burke concluded.
