Hello I installed php on my windows NT V4 server and well Almost everything works sept if I make a

print"$var";
?>
nothing happens it says i have a error the error is
Notice: Undefined variable: var in f:\ncoboa\test.php on line 1
I can though make it like
<?php
$var = "var";
print"$var";
?>
and that works can you please try to figure out whats wronge with it?
