it's not the same code (it's much leaner for a start) and is geared
towards the prevention of luser reports.
I'm already re-using format_search_string().
If you want to make that code into a function, go ahead, but it doesn't
seem needed/possible to me.
Well, I have already lost control of what's inside php-bugs-web some time ago, so I don't think so I can make significant good modifications...
Maybe after I am satisfied with the cleanup work at phpweb, I'll try to understand php-bugs-web from the ground up, and then maybe something good will come out...
Don't expect this in the short term... There is still much to do at phpweb...
