We'd like to request use of the PHP logo as part of our project called
"phpGeneral" (http://linuxnetworks.de/general/index.html). The PHP logo
clearly has a copyright as detailed at http://www.php.net/copyright.php, but
I was unsure how to contact "The PHP Group" for copyright permission.

Well, I don't think so that the usage of the name PHPGeneral is good. We have a mailing list named php-general, and so it will confuse many people. BTW the PHP Group's address is group@php.net so you should ask them ;)
