IMAP installation problem

Dear Sir,
I am new of php, but i want to construct a webmail server for my project. I know that i need to
install "IMAP" function first. After i followed those steps in your professional site, i
can not complie the "IMAP" function. I am using Red Hat Linux 7.3, Apache 1.3.27, MySQL
3.23.33, IMAP2000 and PHP4.3.0.
When i type "Make slx" in the system that i according to the MAKEFILE in the IMAP2000
function, it said that it have 2 error occor , it makes me can not complie the source code, could
you help me to slove this problem? Do i type the wrong system code to complie??
It is quite urgent, thank you for your helping~~~
