Sorry, searched the whole site looking for the correct way to e-mail someone with a problem. also
cc'ed to my php guru and mentor, John A.
Trying to go from a php script to a cgi-driven data base in this fashion:
header("Location: http://www.sierratimes.com/cgi-bin/wh/newspro.cgi?generate");
exit();
It comes back with:
Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at
/home/johnson/public_html/03/batch/news_cat.php:33) in /home/johnson/public_html/03/batch/batch.php
on line 106
Yes, I even tried adding the: session_write_close(); function - nada.
news_cat.php is an include file that I call several times during a session, and to the best of my
knowledge, it's doing nothing with header info (it simply builds a string for an HTML drop
down menu).
I looking in the documentation area in php-ville and saw that 'php jury' is out on header
function causing funky errors. Well, I'm getting them here and remain clueless as to what to
do.
background: the url: http://www.sierratimes.com/cgi-bin/wh/newspro.cgi?generate
builds .txt files from the main database that are used as ssi calls all over this site. I've
successfully written to the main data base. Only thing remaining is to 'give the order' to
work from the new data. And as Murphy's law would have it, this is where I'm stuck.
help!
