In speaking about the website search function, when I say localized manual pages, I mean the 2 character language code embedded in the URL of the page. Since I'm starting from ca.php.net and have EN-US as my browser / OS locale, I don't want to have "fr" pages showing up in the search results, e.g. http://ca.php.net/manual/fr/ref.mail.php If you search for "mail" in the "whole site" you end up with the same page repeated many times for "en", "fr", "it", "tw", "de". Whoa! Regards Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-03-14 12:08:19] vbhackattack at hotmail dot com I'm using a mirror site ca.php.net. However, some pages are full of hard-coded links to www.php.net, e.g. http://ca.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.php. This is true of other mirrors that I looked at (uk.php.net, au.php.net and ch.php.net)for the same pages. Ordinarily this is no big deal, except that today www.php.net is gummed up, perhaps with everyone downloading the lastest RC? So I definitely don't want to go there. As a general rule, I don't want redirecting off my starting mirror. In addition, the search function returns lots of results from localized manual pages that are not my locale. I never want to see these pages, just my own locale version. But there is no way to specify this restriction.
