Deleting inbox.trash

I am not able to delete trash from inbox.trash. Fatal error: allowed
memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted(tried to allocate 43 bytes)in
/var/www/webmail/functions/imap_messages.php on line 539. What's wrong?
Is it because I have too much trash in inbox.trash at one time?
