Ok, after playing with some of the 'Advanced' settings I found the problem: I have to tick 'Use HTTP 1.1 through Proxy connections' and then it works. I always had it ticked, but I had to reinstall everything after a disk crash - so I guess it's unchecked by default. BTW: If I disable the 'Show friendly HTTP error messages' if just gives a blank page and I know even less, let alone the real problem. Anyway, solved now. PS: This could be caused by many things, I guess, but I have 'Outpost' firewall and a DirecWay sat connection. As info for your support database :-) Regards, Steven. ----- Original Message ----- From: "shimi" <shimi@shimi.net> To: "Gabor Hojtsy" <gabor@hojtsy.hu> Cc: "Steven van de Beek" <svdbeek@rivinfo.com>; <webmaster@php.net> Sent: Friday, May 02, 2003 1:52 PM Subject: Re: HTTP 404 not found when trying to dl Win binary > > IMO the guys that get this 404 message in IE should disable the stupid > function called "show no info about the error" ("Show friendly HTTP error > messages") and then see what the real problem is :-) > > On Fri, 2 May 2003, Gabor Hojtsy wrote: > > > > Well, it works fine with Netscape.
