This new concept also helps spreading the load on countries who has numerous mirrors (i have a reason to believe that currently only the first mirror is utilized). This concept, when applied on the us servers as well, will help greatly in reducing the load on the main www.php.net website.
On uk2.php.net we had around 950MB/day on avg for July and 700MB/day on avg so far this month. In my eyes other mirrors are being used to some extent although I have no idea what amounts are being used on uk.php.net.
Thanks for the info Chris. It would be nice if we would be able to get info from other mirrors too. The last official estimate on the mirroring page is from 2002 Febrary, and it would be nice to update it with some real and actual data. I am not sure that 1GB/day is reasonable for smaller countries, like Hungary... It would be nice if some mirror maintainers reading this list would be able to give their estimates. Goba
