Guys, I know it seems like many ads however you need to notice two
things :
1. some of the "ads" are actually link exchanges, the Google ads tower
is more or less a standard these days
and so is a banner on the top that serves mostly in house banners
(self advertising). Also, none of the 3 120x60
banners on the left are paid ads.
2. WeberDev is not a company, it's a hobby and has been there
practically since php3 came to be.
You can believe me that the $$$ that goes out is usually more than
the $$$ that goes in (I wish it
was reversed :).
In any case, I'm taking your advice as constructive and if you think
that any specific change will
make the site better just say the word... after all, if the community
will not use the site than
why keep it?
Sincerely
berber

Yep. It is hard to beleive that users find this site useful. Most of the
other content sites I visit are much-much lighter on ads. It's the
method of the 90s to add more ads to get more revenune. I bet guys asked
you to add php.net search support, because they are really not going to
use your toolbar to search on your site.
BTW you are already linked from http://php.net/tips.php
As Derick also implicitly expressed, we are not going to link to sites
with such extensive ads. We have some history on not accepting such
requests. We also place only one link to the links section to sites. The
only exception is Zend, which I would not like to go into why is listed
more then one time...
