Okay, I do know it, ("Visual Studio" helps a lot with compiling stuff
under windows) I think it's a shame that MySQL changed their license!!!
You PHP.Net dudes should try to get an arrangement that you can get a
somewhat older version of mysql supported... I'm gonna write some angry
mails to MySQL.com now... Will there be antoher DB you can implement
freely? I also use MimerSQL... got it free, but I dont know anything
about the licensing they require for a language such as PHP.
Is it maybe possible to implement MySQL half a part? That it does
support it, but only when you have a MySQL license, wheter that license
be free or not?
I really HATE that OSS get's patented/licensed I have banners all over
my site that link to eurolinux.org for the "Keep OSS software free
campaign".
Plz, try something to get MySQL default in PHP again for the larger
part...
I can figure this out, with compiling 'n stuff, but I bet that most PHP
programmers can't.
Let me know!
Kind regards,

PHP5 does not bundle the MySQL client anymore, due to license changes
from
the MySQL AB people, which prevents it. Instead, you have to install the
client libraries from MySQL.com, and when compiling PHP, make it use
these
libraries... Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to do that, because I
have no idea how to compile stuff on Windows, but this is what you need
to
do.
Also, please refer further support questions to the proper place. See
http://php.net/support for more details...
And you could even try google. I for instance tried to run a search for:
"mysql"+"is not bundled"+"php5", and got relevant results :)
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=%22mysql%22%2
B%22is+not+bundled%22%2B%22php5%22&btnG=Google+Search
Good luck.
