It would probably work better as a documentation fix.
In the meantime, however, I've discovered what may be an actual bug -- the method reports success when the arguments are passed as (newnode, oldnode) as per the W3C DOM spec, and fails when they're passed as (oldnode, newnode) as the PHP Manual shows... but even when the method reports success, it doesn't appear to actually replace the node.
So I may have an actual bug report regarding replace_child(), but I'm going to try a couple more tests before I think about filing a report.
Many thanks,
jon.

Hi JonHmmmm...I didn't ask a question. No you didn'tI didn't request support or a new feature. You didn'tI wasn't reporting a bug or an error in the documentation. Are you sure ?The previous comment regarding this item read: "as far as I can judge from my expirience the manual should be updated: object DomNode->replace_child ( object oldnode, object newnode) - will not work, but object DomNode->replace_child (object newnode, object oldnode) will! So this point in docs should be fixed!"This one was just rejected. To which I added the comment that this poster was correct, and in line with the DOM 2 spec, and I included a link to the relevant portion thereof. So tell me again how I violated the guidelines, please?1 - I wasn't aware of the first note on this page, but you note sounded to me like a bug report and I've wanted you to submit a bug report so that the DOM XML maintainer can take care of this. That's why this note was rejected, it's nothing personal. 2 - I'm now aware of the first one, it has been rejected, so you're adding a note to an inexistant one :) both notes can make a sweet bug report.. It will help us having better extensions, better manual, etc..
