I am a student, and I am new to PHP as I want to learn it. However, I don't know how to choose a good book to start? Would you have any recommandation(s) for me? As before that, I had know HTML and JavaScript.

By the way, I want to install PHP on my computer. However, I don't know what are the differences between the files PHP 4.3.3 (tar.bz2) and PHP 4.3.3 (tar.gz)? Also, after I have unzip the files, should I need to do anything(s)?
I guess you use windws, so download a windows binary of PHP (not the source ones you refer to). You will find installation instructions in the manual (http://php.net/install)
