Re: UK Mirror for PHP.net

Hi Simon!

I would very much like to support the PHP community by running a UK mirror of PHP.net. However I am aware of your policy not to accept another mirror in a country where there are already two active mirrors which I see you already have. Nevertheless I thought it might be worth contacting you directly in case there might be some flexibility in this policy. We have recently had a new server custom built with twin RAID hard drives, 2GHZ Pentium 4 and 512MB RAM and our bandwidth allowance will be able to cope with the suggested 150MB data transfer suggested on your site. If there is any chance that we could provide a UK mirror for you then please let me know. If not then I'd appreciate you keeping my details in the event that one of your current UK mirrors can no longer continue.

Thanks for your offer, but we are not keeping a list of proposed mirrors, and as you have correctly observed, we are not accepting mirrors in UK now. Thanks for the offer anyway, Gabor Hojtsy
