your function is really, really great! One thing you could think about is to add the attribute autocomplete="off" which is hiding the autocomplete-list from Internet-Explorer because it hides to top of your list.

See http://php.net/functions.js.txt for the uncompressed version of the code, and you can see that we are trying to make IE forget about the autocomplete feature with an MSDN documented JS method, but some IEs are not accepting this for some reason. We are open to suggestions on how we can fix it, since this is one of the most reported bugs. Regards, Goba
