Hi Bert!
I have a suggestion for the frontpage of php.net. PHP related events are now displayed on the right of the frontpage, but I hardly ever look at them. Why not? Because events all over the world are displayed, and there's hardly ever one near where I live. But for quite a while now, visitors of the php.net frontpage are automatically redirected to a mirror near where they live. So is it possible to make these mirrors display only the events near the location from where the page is viewed? Or to clearly mark the events near where people live? (except for large, world wide conferences of course, that should always be shown.) I hope you find this a useful idea.Yes, we like this idea much :) We do already have such a feature, highlighting the evenets in your country in a different color. Doesn't that work for you? We need to keep the homepages the same for all visitors, so caches and proxy servers can store them. All the persionalisation we add in is done on the client side (or with HTTP headers). We push out exactly the same html code for anybody. Regards, Goba
