The DotGeek Certified PHP Programmer Certification Programme
The Dotgeek PHP Certification Programme is an independent, open source and totally free certification programme.
Some people might assume that certain commercial certification programmes (e.g. MySQL Certification, RedHat Linux Certification, Oracle etc.) are widely accepted by industry and employers. Dotgeek differs from these. It is not certificated upon the basis of profit. Its independent third party certification is not profit driven, and it presents some important advantages:
- Open Standard: the community of users, which evolves continuously; can contribute to the certification standards.
- Objective: because there is no economic factor whatsoever in its structures, the process remain as objective and realistic as it could possibly be;
- Transparent: certification standards and the details of its certified programmers are publicly accessible by third parties; The names, qualifications and professional positions of its Board Members are openly published and constantly updated;
- Practical: Those seeking application demonstrate their knowledge with their code and though tutorials. This might have some practical implications for individuals such as yourself.
-Free: Certification is offered at no cost. Board members are well qualified volunteers from the PHP community.
