Hi Jonas! We use DocBook XML files as a base, and a custom build system developed using SGML and XML tools as needed. A detailed howto on using our documenatation system is available at http://php.net/dochowto. The documentation build system is available under the PHP license. probably it has been asked a thousand times, but i really didn't find it: what software does php.net use for the documentation. since there is a possibility to view each page's source, there might also be the complete source somwhere. all i could find was phpDocumentor which doesn't quite look like the php.net version ^^
