OK, first I cannot recall that someone from php.net confirmed that it is fine if you operate both fi.php.net and fi2.php.net, but it is for sure no problem on the short term. Be prepared for possible criticism from site users, as it often happens with 'special situations' like this.
Sure. I don't even think that it would be any kind of problem. I just want to support PHP. Me, myself, i'm pretty skilled with PHP and we have also finnish PHP-community, phpfi.org and phpfi.net are our domains and we are gonna set up our finnish PHP-portal up very soon.
Second all mirrors need the same details, so we would need the details for fi.php.net. Should we have the same hosting provider, maintainer and other data?
Yes, they would be the same. I've set up my proton@php.net mail, so that would be the contact for both. Those mirrors are in different core-connections, mirror.mikrolahti.fi is very near to finnish internet exchange, only 2 hops, and it's fast. fi2 is now moved to another city, and it's in different fiber, 20Mbps bandwidth is allocated. fi has 100Mbps.
OK, fi.php.net is directed to mirror.mikrolahti.fi in our DB, so it will progagate soon. Also fi.php.net and fi2.php.net has the same contact details now. Goba
