search script to google ?

Hi -- I was wondering if you could share the string manipulation code you are using for the site search on PHP.net that uses google. The code I am looking for is [I believe] what you are doing for the "search for in the function list whole site online documentation [en] bug database general mailing list developer mailing list documentation mailing list". I would like to do something similar on my site where I take a search query, clean up the keywords [spaces]& validate for bad characters. Then add "+"s between the keyword(s) so that i can redirect to google like so: http://www.google.com/search?q=replace+space+plus+site:www.php.net&l=en Thanks for your time.
