I've tried using the latest Opera release and the latest Firefox release (I don't use IE), tried from multiple mirrors here and abroad, and tried to trick it in various ways. (This is a problem I've had with earlier distributions as well.) The pattern is the same with both browsers: the browser cannot determine the file size, and 'spins its wheels', allegedly slurping many MB at a rate far in excess of my ADSL connect's actual bandwidth. If I let it run to what it thinks is completion, the gzip archive is unreadable.
