Monticello Explorer: Using PHP and Flash to build an interactive house
and map tour

The Monticello Explorer site ( explorer.monticello.org ) was built
using
Macromedia Flash, PHP, MySQL, and an array of open source libraries.
Get an overview of the technologies used, including information on the
following subjects:
* Reading PHP-generated XML in Flash.
* Using the Ming library to deliver compressed data to Flash.
* Full screen Flash with back button support.
* Using the ADODB library for database access and caching in PHP.
* Using the Cache Lite library from PEAR to dramatically improve the
performance of infrequently-changing pages.
* Obscure PHP extensions: using OGR/PHP to process map data.
