The first two cannot connect to smarty.php.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fsmarty.php..net>. The third is just a dns lookup using whois.arin.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwhois.arin..net>. Both my dns at work and whois.arin.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwhois.arin..net>both show the dns to resolve to 66.163.161.116<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2F66.163.161..116>. I can connect to that ip directly, which give some type of webbased directory listing (i assume you use the dns to switch to the various sites), but doing it by dns name gets a connection timed out. My dns at work shows: Name: y1.php.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fy1.php.net> Address: 66.163.161.116<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2F66.163.161.116> Aliases: smarty.php.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fsmarty.php.net> whois.arin.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwhois.arin..net> : IP address: 66.163.161.116<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2F66.163.161.116> Host name: smarty.php.net<http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fsmarty.php.net> Alias: y1.php.net <http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fy1.php.net> I also tested with a half-dozen other dns servers, all showing the same ip address for that dns record. --John On 4/4/06, Rasmus Lerdorf <rasmus@lerdorf.com> wrote: > > John Doak wrote: > > Has been for two days now, just thought I would give a heads up if no > one > > has noticed. > > Works fine.
