Hi Hannes, Shouldn't it be an option to start a second mirror test location in Europe? And only when both tests fails say that a mirror is unreachable or to slow. Normal users should use a mirror in their own country (so it shouldn't be a problem to be slow from the other end off the world). You could even test it from the osu1.php.net and when that times out send it to a second test bot in Europe and let that testbot do it's job by just informing the normal testbot if it is really down or not. This could be done by using fopen/curl or something similair. If you would like we can make a small script for it and run it for free (or we can provide space and traffic for it for free). Hi, There is not and was not any problem on ge.php.net. Can you send more specific information when it was unreachable?
Its not really unreachable. Our mirror test bot, ran from osu1.php.net, times out after 15seconds. Meaning; the connection between ge.php.net and osu1.php.net is terrible. The rationale behind the timeout is that our mirrors should be fast, there is nothing more annoying for users than needing to wait for too long for the website to show up. The downfall of this test, however, is that this check tends to be unfair for countries without a good link to USA. I have no idea how to solve this problem except for simply disabling this check - but then we risk not catching mirrors that really are unreachable... -Hannes

Hi! Our automatic mirror site check was unable to reach the PHP.net mirror site maintained by you for three or more days now, *or* have found a permanent fatal error in your mirror setup. Therefore our bot automatically disabled your listing as an official PHP.net mirror site. The last error message stored for your mirror is: Unable to get past HTTP response headers. Probably timeout. Please correct the problem or reply to this mail with your questions, if you think that the problem is not on your side. Your mirror will be kept disabled until the error is fixed. Mail sent out by the PHP.net automatic mirror site monitoring system
