Hello,
We've noticed the deactivation of ir2.php.net and we've followed the
discussion over the mailing list which has advised the Mehregan admins
to apply again for the mirror. I am very grateful to Mehregan for
provision of the mirror however I do not know if they have applied
again and are still interested in this or not so I'd like to query the
status of this affair from you to know if we may have any chance to
redeem Mehregan by a new mirror.
The targeted box would be located at PNDC (http://pndc.ir/) which I
have personally visited and can say is a real datacenter that meets
the standards while I'm afraid many other servers in Iran are in fact
located at server rooms instead, there would be redundant power, (four
generators), datacenter NOC group present at place, our own two way
monitoring, we check the webserver and the server load to be lower
than 10 every 2 to 4 minutes and get sms and speeking alerts, which
reads aloud the name or ip address of the box in reference. PNDC also
provides us with redundant bandwidth so we surmise a downtime due to
bandwidth issues should really be a matter of past if previous Iranian
mirrors have had any issue due to bandwidth price or concerns.
At our offices there are always level 3 and level 2 and general admins
present during the day and night, our response time is often from 5
minutes to 2 hours and there has often been a resolution time of at
most 6 hours, offices are located in two different cities and we may
be reached by email, phone and livechat. However helpdesk is the most
preferred way as all of our admins have access to it.
If you believe we may have a change please let us know and we'll
proceed to the next steps as advised by your mirroring page.
