PDFlib -a bug?

Dear Sir, I'm not sure whether it is a bug or not, but after installation of the php_pdf.dll extension which comes bundled with Php 4.0.4 pl1 everything looks fine when I run phpinfo for example, but the library doesn't seem to work. I couldn't run the php examples supplied by pdflib.com, because I get an error message, that there's no such function as: "PDF_new();" However, when I overwrite this php_pdf.dll with the newest (4 beta) one which I have downloaded from www.pdflib.com, then everything works fine. (Except, that this version of php_pdf.dll puts a "stamp" over every pdf I create, which is quite annoying). Could you please help me out on this issue? I would really appreciate it!
