The first comment in chapter 17 HTTP authentication states that you can easily add encryption to
HTTP authentication by using the crypt() function. Not so. PHP runs server side so anything
entered at the prompt on the client side must still travel over the network unencrypted. Thus, this
person's comment is fallacious and should be removed.
