Hi,
I wanted to share some PHP code snippets and therefore put them on my
homepage. First, I got your logo from the download-site where it said,
I could use it to promote PHP without any licencing.
After having written a small description in "the PHP-manual-style" I
thought it would be nice to have this pages look like php.net - and
that's what I did. Before putting these pages online, I thought I
could have a closer look to your licence. I remember PHP itself having
a quite generous licence which allows using it for practically everything
as long as you mentioned that PHP technology would be used in it.
To my disappointment the licence of the website was a bit different.
Although I created all HTML/CSS/images myself, the layout clearly
ressembles your page (intentionally, of course), but you could
interpret it as "rip off" although it was actually meant to be a
"homage" to you.
Here's a screenshot of my page:

The PHP-part is clearly seperated ("embedded") to my layout and I am
quite sure everyone who knows PHP also knows your site, thus knows
that it's from you. I was also just writing the "Acknowledgement" part
to avoid any confusion.
My idea is to give every sub-page a different, individual look while
still preserving the "corporate identity".
That's why I'd like to ask you, whether it would be possible, under
spacial circumstances and adding a clearly visible copyright notice,
to keep it this way.
Oh, by the way: I didn't find any mailinglist for the "website team"
on php.net - is there any? I don't know whether I have the time to
redesign your whole page, but I could certainly help here and there :)
I already have a CVS account as you see. I'm helping a bit in the
PHP-Dev mailinglist to sort out the bogus reports :)
Kind Regards,
Daniel Lorch
