ID: 12638 Updated by: jimw@php.net Reported By: gerhard@smoking.de -Status: Analyzed +Status: Closed Bug Type: Website problem Operating System: Win98SE de IE5.5 HtmlHelp4.74.87 PHP Version: 4.0.6 New Comment: www.php.net now sets the content-type to application/octet-stream for chm files, and a note was added to the mirror instructions so they can follow suit. (ie doesn't exhibit the problem because it sometimes cheats and uses the file extension to override the content-type sent by the server.) Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2001-10-07 11:11:55] jeroen@php.net Reclassified, seems server problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2001-10-07 10:56:37] mj@php.net User feedback via email: ======================== again I cannot use your webinterface, my tries to remember the pw which I supplied with my 2. report went wrong and the emailed pw is empty again (!). The same error occurs like reported when downloading with Netscape. MSIE-download works fine. I have compared the 2 downloads and found out that Netscape thinks, it is a text-file. Every Linefeed (x0a) becomes CarriageReturn/Linefeed (x0d x0a). This must be a configuration-thing at your webserver (mime-type is text/html !!). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2001-10-07 09:07:49] mj@php.net Could you please try http://www.php.net/distributions/manual/manual-de.chm and verify if the error still occurs? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2001-08-08 16:10:57] alindeman@php.net bogused the other one, opening this one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2001-08-08 13:00:04] sniper@php.net user opened new report.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
