PHP Problem

Dear Sir, I am a new user of PHP and currently undertaking a web project which I intend to implement with PHP.Really I used to program with ASP but decided to migrate to PHP for its simplicity and cross-platform advantages over ASp I am ,however,stucked with cookie issue. I type in the following code from notepad <? setcookie ("names","kunle"); ?> <html> <head> </head> <body> hello </body> </html> Then save the file and put it on my publishing folder only to now go to my browser and view the result.but unfortunalety,this is what i get Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\sirlweb\index.php:2) in C:\sirlweb\index.php on line 3 hello Hope the way i called the setcookie function was okay? pls kindly help me or direct my question to any one that could help. i am a web application developer from Nigeria.
