Hey there, Just a comment about the font sizes used at php.net. I notice that in the style sheet you are specifying the sizes in percentages, and that for instance the sidebar fonts are at 85%. When I am in windows this causes little problems for me, however if I am under Linux using Netscape 6.2 I find the font to be very small. I can easily adjust my font size to something other then 100% in Netscape, and always do that when viewing the PHP site, however it would be nice if I did not have to do this. If you are interested I have created a set of style sheets for mac, windows, and X systems using either IE, NS 4.7, or NS 6 so that each browser/os combination has fonts set to a readable level. There is two small PHP scripts used to determine which style sheet to use when presenting the page to a user. The font sizes I use are in ems, and are chosen to correlate to font size 1 or font size 2. For our purposes we did not need anything more then those two sizes of fonts. The percentage of an em used is based on the browser using the default font size of either medium for IE, or 100% for Netscape 6(Netscape 4 is reset to a default base font each time it starts). You can check out these style sheets in action by visiting http://umanitoba.ca. They are not 100% perfect as there are some browsers I did not test with, as well as dealing with different DPI settings for monitors. If you are interested I could pass on the style sheets that I have created, as well as the PHP code used to determine the right style sheet to use. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- William_Moore@umanitoba.ca UMinfo Senior Web Developer 204.474.7238
