Hi there > No response was returned from these following hosts: > hk.php.net, hk2.php.net, lv2.php.net, mx2.php.net, no.php.net, > ph.php.net, pt2.php.net, sk.php.net, za2.php.net, tr2.php.net, > us4.php.net, li.php.net, cn2.php.net. li.php.net was down for several weeks because rsync has deleted the web :-( anyway I have setup a newer version of rsync and now I seems to run normal. But rsync.php.net is so slooooooooooooooooow - I don't know if this a european problem, rsync died about every 30 minutes and the speed was very very slow. If someone whant's to install a new mirror he has to spend hours to do that. I know some time ago there was a discussion to install a second rsync server perhaps in Europe. I don't thin that this would be the right solution, but could it be possible to have a .tar.gz File generated every 2 weeks. This file is then stored in 3 or 4 locations around the world. When someone is setting up a new mirror, he can download the file and only the updated files has to be received by rsync. The second problem I have is with the .htaccess in the root directory. When I rename this file to something else the web is working, as soon the .htaccess is there the web doesn't run anymore! any hints? greetings from Liechtenstein Roland -- Roland Guthauser, System Engineer ISP Lie-Comtel AG, Industriestrasse 22, FL-9487 Bendern Phone: +423-370'19'45 Fax: +423-370'19'47 Mail: roland.guthauser@lie-comtel.li WWW: http://www.lie-comtel.li
