Initial mirroring was done with the following command: rsync -avzC --delete --delete-after rsync.php.net::phpweb /var/www/sites/il.php.net/www/ Then: # crontab -u phpweb -l # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - edit the master and reinstall. # (php-mirrorer installed on Tue Apr 23 15:43:24 2002) # (Cron version -- $Id: crontab.c,v 2.13 1994/01/17 03:20:37 vixie Exp $) 23 3 * * * /usr/bin/rsync -avzC --delete --delete-after rsync.php.net::phpweb /var/www/sites/il.php.net/www [ should I decrease that interval? ] Regarding what's written in README.mirror: - Your name and email address as the admin for the mirror. > As the Form: field suggests: shimi <shimi@fresh.co.il> - Your country (we will update the DNS for php.net). > Israel (il) - A hostname that we can use as a CNAME for the country-code-based name of the mirror. (This is preferable to an IP address, because it means you can move the mirror to another IP address without coordinating with us at all.) > php.fresh.co.il - Whether or not you've installed local searching support on your mirror. This uses ht://Dig (http://www.htdig.org), for which instructions for setting it up can be found in Mirrors-htdig.tgz > No. - Whether or not you've installed local stats support on your mirror. This uses webalizer, for which instructions for setting it up can be found in stats/README.stats > I can do that, but, it will be in our native language (Hebrew). I have translated the webalizer engine into Hebrew and that's the language it does the reports with. Nevertheless, I can install a *different* copy of the webalizer executable, if it is what is required. In short: I will have stats. The question is in what language. Tell me your preference, please. - The name of your hosting company. > Mirror is sponsered by "Fresh.co.il" (please preserve the name form :) ) - The URL of the site that hosts the mirror. This is where you want people will go when they click on the link for your mirror at the bottom of each page. > http://www.fresh.co.il - The preferred default language for your country (currently only the manuals are translated). Don't worry if there's no content available in the preferred language yet, so long as English is an acceptable secondary default. > Hebrew, but it doesn't exist yet. Please mail me back if you have any issues. :) p.s. There's a subdomain set up to accept requests already (http://php.fresh.co.il) [it is still synchronizing at the time of writing these lines. from some reason downloading from your server is VERY slow...] -- Best regards, Shimi, System Administrator for Fresh.co.il. "Apparently, Windows 98 is going to be renamed 'Diana, Princess of Windows'. It's overrated, overpriced, consumes loads of resources and crashes spectacularly..."
