I really don't understand why so many guys are making so many efforts to build functions
(partly really odd ones) for comparing versions - especially in the context of the
phpversion()-function - version_compare() offers best performance (or at least better than all of
the given ones here) for comparing versions - and it also respects things like "dev" and
"RC1".
I don't think that a few bytes of code are really worth being encapsulated in a big odd
function.. if that's what you want.
