Slight correction to the example posted below by gelak mainly for newer PHP users.
Ignore the two lines related to sessions (as below) as those aren't related to this image:
- session_start();
- if ($_SESSION ['user']=="cica") {
...and everything from the else{} downwards.
Then add in the following line at the top of the script...
header("Content-type: image/png");
...which tells the browser to treat it as a PNG image, and you should get the smiling face.
