as for your benchmarks of eval(), i tried running them myself, and found it odd that the 3rd test
which contained the most code being run via the eval() function was the fastest, specially since
that test happens to be the last thats run...
so, i reversed the order of which the tests were being executed, starting with testEval3(), then 2,
1, and control(). what i found was that i was getting the same results as before, but not in the
order you would image, the fastest most times seemed to be control()... so, if you ask me, i believe
the eval() function doesn't really add real noticable script execution, nor does it speed it
up. the tests done here simply seem to show an increase in speed for the last test function being
run probably cause its already run the same code (more or less) 3 times earlier, which seems to
speed it up the next time around...
thats what it looks like to me anyway, i can't confirm it or anything, since i got no real idea
of how php works internally with eval() or if it gets slight speed increasements when running
identical code over and over...
