For people looking to prevent a session timing out - you may like to look at AJAX. I wont post code
here, but using a simple AJAX setup you can ensure PHP keeps your session alive by issuing a request
every few minutes.
No page refreshes, no security issues - just have to learn a bit of AJAX (which is no bad thing!)
