Guys i think you lost an important thing when doing this extension.
For mysql.so I could put path to the default mysql socket in php.ini (mysql.default_socket) and then
just use mysql_connect("localhost", ...) to connect to mysql server via this socket. It
was fine because php ignores my.cnf files that are used by mysql clients.
PDO extension completelly ignores this parameter in php.ini and tries to connect to compiled in unix
socket when I use PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=...',...). I think this is wrong
because scripts can't be portable to another host/OS without changing path anymore.
Please keep an eye on it.
