I think nathanzadoks at yahoo dot co dot uk's function is not very good for checksums - it does not make any sense to build a md5 hash from a crc32 hash - MD5 (32Byte) is more precise then CRC32 (4Byte), so the MD5-encoding would not make sense. As PHP returns the MD5 hash in ASCII representation already, you do not need to base64-encode it, too. So a simple md5($content) or sha1($content) would be more precise and secure. ---- Server IP: 217.13.201.10 Probable Submitter: 80.228.85.138 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.crc32.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+61880 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: non-english -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes&reason=non-english Delete: already in docs -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes&reason=already+in+docs Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+61880&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+61880&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
