"nospam at joot dot com" made a slick suggestion for automatically finding a visitor's city/country. However, I would not recommend using such a technique because it relies on a third-party database and service. If the owners of api.hostip.info decided to be malicious, they could insert spam into your forms by returning advertisements instead of city names. They could even do it on an IP by IP basis so you might not be aware it was happening.
