How about php for cli apps? Like php gtk? This seems totally web focused. How about php vs c,
python, c++, ocaml, lisp, etc. I work as a php programmer and never do web based stuff. I find php
debugging to be it's biggest problem. The debugging support from pear and PECL packages is slim
to terrible compared to gdb.
