Hi,
I have been putting together a performance test suite for PHP. The idea is to collect performance
data of the fundamentals of the language - and how they change depending on version etc.
Loops are the first thing it tests.
I have found that for PHP 5.05 performance now seems to be quite constant across *all* methods of
looping - in fact foreach could actually run slower, if the key and value were requested.
Of course this may change over subsiqent versions, which is why I have made the tests. If
you're interested in testing your setup, get the scripts from http://www.savagepm.co.uk/
If anyone would like to add to them - or even create a new batch of tests feel free. I will be
publishing all results posted.
Alex
